7 days left to register for Children’s Advocacy Day!

The #7 reason to attend is to show your support for Kentucky youth aging out of foster care who need help transitioning into adulthood.  More than 500 Kentucky youth age out of foster care each year, according to Kids Count Data from the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The main concern for former foster youth in Kentucky is ensuring they have health coverage.  Beginning January 1st, 2014, youth who aged out of foster care between the ages of 18-21 are eligible for Medicaid coverage until age 26.  Not enough former foster youth are aware of this eligibility, nor how to begin the re-certification process.  That’s why we’re asking for a more streamlined system, like automatic enrollment, to get former foster youth health coverage taken care of.

Join us in supporting Kentucky’s youth by registering to attend Children’s Advocacy Day here.  Remember, everyone is welcome to attend, especially children.
